How to be a More Courteous Driver

Drivers have different personalities. Some of them exhibit a road rage behavior which can lead to different consequences. The road isn’t a safe place especially if you aren’t a courteous driver. A lot can happen while you’re on the road so to avoid any mishaps, being a more courteous driver will help you get to your destination and back home safely. Being attentive is the first way on how to be a courteous driver and if you’re unsure on what to do to be a more courteous driver, reading this article will help you become one.

HOW WILL I KNOW IF I’M A COURTEOUS DRIVER?

You are a courteous driver if you follow and obey the traffic laws and speed limit. You are also a courteous driver if you don’t drink and drive because you know you should only drive when you’re sober. If you don’t use your phone while driving, allow other vehicles to pass in front of you and follow the car in front of you only after three seconds has passed, glance in the mirror and your blind spot before switching lanes and only paying attention on the road, then you are indeed a courteous driver. But if you feel like you’re not courteous enough, what should you do?

HOW TO BECOME MORE COURTEOUS WHILE DRIVING

Being a courteous driver is easy. If you don’t let your temper get to you, then you’re good. If you’re wondering what you should do to be a lot more courteous on the road, then you should apply changes on your driving habit.

  • Use your signals

To avoid any cause of road rage, you should communicate your intentions properly and make use of your signal lights. They are not there for nothing; they are intended to be used.

  • Don’t start a fight with your car horns

Only use your car horns to let other drivers become aware of your presence and not to inform them of your frustrations. Your emotions shouldn’t get into you. Take a deep breath to relax and release your frustrations. Car horns are also one of the causes of road incidents so make sure not to use them when unnecessary.

  • Respect the people on the road

Drivers aren’t the only person you’ll encounter on the road. You will also see people trying to cross the road, the elders, street cleaners, animals, cyclists, etc. Let them pass through and only continue driving once it’s completely safe to pass. Always remember that you do not own the road, so let others use it too.

WHAT IF OTHERS AREN’T A COURTEOUS DRIVER?

Let others be who they want to be on the road. Eventually, they will face the consequences of not being a courteous driver so only focus on yourself. If you’re safe and other people are safe from you, then you’ll be fine. Always remember to be a courteous driver to avoid accidents on the road. It is better to be patient on the road than to be a patient in the hospital!

How to Change a Tire

It’s nice to own a car, but when it comes to changing a flat tire and you don’t know how to do it, it can be pretty frustrating. Knowing how to change a flat tire is necessary for every car owner and drivers as you can’t rely on your phone to call someone all the time because you might experience a busted tire while you’re on the road where there is no signal.

STEPS ON HOW TO CHANGE YOUR FLAT TIRE

  1. APPLY WHEEL WEDGES

To ensure that your vehicle doesn’t roll or move while you replace your flat tire, place the wheel wedges in front of the tires if you’re replacing a rear tire and behind the rear tires if you’re replacing the front tire.

  1. REMOVE THE HUBCAP AND LOOSEN THE LUG NUTS

Remove the hubcap by using the flat end of your lug wrench and afterwards turn the lug nuts counterclockwise to loosen it.

  1. USE THE JACK

Place the jack under the vehicle and raise it until the flat tire is high enough. Remove the lug nuts.

  1. REMOVE AND REPLACE THE TIRE

Pull the tire towards you until it is unattached from the hub. Mount the spare tire on the hub and push until the lug bolts are visible through the rim.

  1. TIGHTEN THE LUG NUTS AND LOWER THE VEHICLE

Tighten the lug nuts back into the lug bolts with your hands first and lower down the vehicle. Tighten them afterwards with the wrench after the vehicle is completely lowered down on the ground and replace the hub cap.

  1. CHECK YOUR TIRE’S PRESSURE

The last step is to check your tire’s pressure and you’re good to go!

WHAT TOOLS SHOULD I BRING WITH ME?

There are necessary tools you should always have with you in case you need to change your flat tire. Vehicle owner’s manual, jack, lug wrench, wheel wedges and a spare tire are a few tools you will need. You should also have a working flashlight with you in case you have to replace your tire during the night.

How to Save Money on Gasoline for Your Car?

Owning a car can be very expensive. Aside from the money you spent to buy the car itself, the expenses don’t stop there. You will still have to spend for its fuel, maintenance and repairs, tires, registration, license, etc. Your car fuel can be pretty expensive though as the price of gas continuously rises. With these expenses, wouldn’t you love to be able to at least save money on gasoline? It is fun to own a car since it is hassle-free because you’re able to enjoy places where you want to go, but the expenses can give you headache and stress especially if you have to go to a gas station from time to time for your car fuel.

WHAT SHOULD I DO TO BE ABLE TO SAVE MONEY ON GASOLINE?

Would you believe that you can save money on gasoline? Sometimes, your driving habits are the reason why you are very expensive when it comes to your car’s fuel. Here is a list of what you should do and avoid for you to be able to start saving money on your gasoline.

  1. Drive less

One of the few mistakes car owners do is they keep on using their cars to go anywhere, even for the shallowest reasons. For example, they still use their cars to buy something even if they can just walk to their destination. Some car owners are too lazy to walk because they know they have a vehicle they can ride on, but the truth is, they are only wasting their fuel. It is not practical. If your destination is walking distance, don’t waste your car’s fuel!

  1. Idling

When you’re waiting inside your car, turn off the engine as it also consumes a major waste of gasoline. If you’re waiting outside, turn off your car engine and just open your windows for air. It saves your car fuel and gives you fresh air to breathe, plus you’re not contributing pollutants to the atmosphere by doing so.

  1. Don’t drive too fast

Your speed limit has something to do with your gas emptying out too fast. When you drive fast, your fuel consumption increases while driving below the speed limit on the other hand, uses gas efficiently. If you do this, you would notice that you’re not taking frequent trips to the gas station anymore unlike when you were driving too fast.

WHAT SHOULD I DO TO AVOID RUNNING OUT OF GAS?

Running out of fuel is a nuisance. If you experience this, ask for the nearest gas station if you’re unfamiliar in the place you’re in but if that seems impossible, you should call for a fuel delivery service. If you ran out of gas in ABC City, our towing company offers fuel delivery service. We deliver anytime and anywhere 24/7. To avoid running out of gas, always check your fuel status and do the steps above. It is better to drive slower than have your wallet run out of money because of driving too fast!

Can Towing Damage Your Car?

The utmost priority of vehicle owners is the safety of their vehicles. When a vehicle owner experiences a breakdown on the road, the first thing they would think of is to get help. Towing will become one of their options. If a vehicle owner hasn’t tried any towing services before, it is normal for them to become worried about the safety of their vehicles. There’s no need to worry though! The best thing to do is to find a professional towing company with well-trained and experienced tow truck drivers. There are towing companies that aren’t equipped with the right tools and equipment, so it is better to check their credentials first before letting them touch your vehicle.

WHAT IS THE BEST TYPE OF TOWING SERVICE FOR ME?

Since there are different types of towing, choosing the right one for your vehicle is very crucial. There are towing services designed for the type of vehicle you own to avoid damages and to have your car safely transported from one location to another. Flatbed towing, heavy duty towing and motorcycle towing are the types of towing services you’ll need. Flatbed towing is designed for lighter vehicles while heavy-duty towing is for heavy vehicles such as trucks, trailers, buses, etc. Motorcycle towing of course, is only compatible with motorcycles and motorbikes. You should know which type of towing service is best for your vehicle to avoid further damages.

Flatbed towing is safer than regular towing because the wheels of the vehicle are also placed on the flatbed of the tow truck, contrary to the procedure of regular towing. If your vehicle is a motorcycle, the best option is motorcycle towing which is not offered by some towing companies. While some companies offer them, they might still lack the right tools and equipment for the proper towing of motorcycles.

IS IT SAFE TO HAVE MY CAR TOWED?

You shouldn’t worry too much about having your car towed as most towing companies conform to the safety procedures. Who would want to have complaints from their clients right? Having negative feedback will ruin their business name so towing companies will always prioritize your vehicle’s safety. Still, it is important to check the credentials of the towing company. Our tow truck drivers are all professionals and well-trained. There is no need to worry about your vehicles if they’re in our hands.

To avoid damages to your car when it is being towed, tell the towing company exactly what type your vehicle is so they will recommend the best type of towing service for you. Tow truck drivers know what to do to your car to safely tow it so don’t be anxious about your car being damaged. You can also tell them to handle your car with extra care, so you won’t have to worry too much. Towing can certainly damage your car, but only if the towing company handling it is unprofessional and inexperienced.
